I visited San Francisco twice in the last year and even though I have visited many times in the past I never fail to discover new wonders or fail to be amazed by this cities beauty.  Recently I read that San Francisco was rated as the second best city in the world to visit and I whole heartedly agree.

Every time I visit I try to see something new in addition to the mandatory trip to Fisherman's Wharf.   This time I walked up to Coit Tower using the Embarcadero-side stairs and visited the Maritime Museum.  It's a requirement to buy a few loaves of fresh sourdough bread.  I tend to eat one warm loaf while walking down the street.  One of these days I am going to take the tour of the Boudin bakery.  I have walked by it many times but just haven't taken time to go in.

Old Trolley
I saw this man playing this instrument and I no longer can remember what he said it was called. It was a favorite of old seamen due to its simple design and small size. This was the first time I had seen one other than in old movies.

You will notice that in these three photos of old trolleys they each have a different paint color.  SF has an organization that acquires old trolleys from around America and the world, restores them, and then paints them the colors of old trolley systems of America.  When you board the cars there is a plaque that will provide information about the project and which American city that particular car represents.
The primary reason for visiting Pier 39 anymore is to sea the sea lions.

This is such a beautiful carousel. It has been may years since I rode it.
